I have always been drawing and painting. I worked for many years as a graphic designer and creative director. I only started working in ceramics when I learned the craft of working with clay from Master Potter Stuart Carey and artist Sharon Virtue. That was way back in 2013. It really stuck with me and became a central part of my art. I never left that studio in London and still make my work there today.
I love looking at people (who doesn’t), at ancient sculpture and classical painting. I was born on the edge of the Amazon rainforest. My people have a deep connection with nature, animals and the spirit of the forest, as well as the colonial history of our land. I think that all of these things find their way in how I make my work and what inspires me.
I work mostly in stoneware and occasionally porcelain. Sometimes it is figurative, sometimes abstract, sometimes somewhere in between. It just depends on what goes on in my head.
I have exhibited my work as part of the Barbican OpenFest and have created an exclusive range of ceramic art for department store Liberty in London. You’ll find me with my work at various art and ceramics fairs in London.
